The Village of University Park recognized outgoing Trustee Janelle McFadden and proclaimed May 4–10, 2025 as Professional Municipal Clerks Week at its May 6 organizational meeting.
Mayor Joseph E. Rudez led a presentation of awards to Trustee McFadden, thanking her for four years of service and noting her research, votes and commitment to the community. McFadden said the past four years "have been awesome" and thanked colleagues, volunteers and supporters.
The mayor then read a proclamation dated 05/06/2025 recognizing the Office of the Professional Municipal Clerk and specifically extending appreciation to municipal clerk Dorothy D. Jones, MMC, ROMC, and Deputy Clerk Melendra Henry for their service. The proclamation details the clerk's role as an impartial public servant and establishes the week of May 4–10, 2025 as Professional Municipal Clerks Week in University Park.
There was a brief discussion of the importance of clerk services; the board recorded its approval of the proclamation by voice vote and then moved to the meeting's closing business.
