Grand Mound council hires interim clerk, adopts budget amendment and approves TSIP grant

The Grand Mound City Council met Jan. 13, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. and approved a package of routine and substantive items, including hiring an interim city clerk, adopting a budget amendment, and accepting a grant agreement.
The council voted to hire Meghan Ganzer as interim city clerk at $1,800 per month, with office hours Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., through March 31, 2025. That motion, made by Banowetz and seconded by Beuthien, passed unanimously.
Council approved the TSIP grant agreement (moved by Beitelspacher, seconded by Banowetz) and adopted Resolution 25-03 to approve FY2025 budget amendment #1 (moved by Beitelspacher, seconded by Schanze); both motions were recorded as passing with all ayes. The council also adopted Resolution 25-01, the Depository resolution, by unanimous vote.
The council approved joining the Highway 30 Coalition (motion by Beuthien, second by Schanze) and adopted the 2025 IRS mileage reimbursement rate (motion recorded as by Schanze with a second by Banowetz); both motions passed unanimously.
The minutes list a full set of bills paid prior to and at the meeting and report December gross wages of $13,480.47. The clerk’s financial summary enumerates expense and revenue totals by fund, with overall expenses of $57,904.88 and revenues of $40,475.30.
Two items were explicitly tabled: consideration of a sidewalk policy and a request to rename Joyce Court to Sasquatch Circle. The Splash Pad fence design was discussed but the minutes do not record a final action on that design.
