Grand Mound council approves wage resolution, payments and Gworks onboarding

Mayor Kurt Crosthwaite called the Grand Mound City Council to order at 6:00 p.m. on Feb. 12. The council voted to accept the consent agenda, which listed prior and current bills and payroll items, after a motion by Schanze and a second by Beitelspacher; the motion carried 'All ayes.'

The consent agenda and bills list included vendor payments such as Commercial Rec Specialists ($46,460.50), Morton Salt ($3,121.07), JJJ Enterprise ($8,618.75) and a reported January gross wages amount of $15,120.51. The minutes record both bills paid prior to the meeting (for example, Aflac, Delta Dental, IPERS) and bills paid at the meeting (for example, Badger Meter, J & R Supply), but do not attach individual roll-call tallies beyond the recorded 'All ayes.'

During the same session the council approved several standalone motions. A motion by Banowetz, seconded by Beitelspacher, approved a one-time payment to WGML for operating funds; the minutes record the motion as carried. Councilmember Beuthien moved, with a second by Beitelspacher, to approve a $150 donation to Central Dewitt After Prom; that motion also carried 'All ayes.'

The council passed Revised Resolution 25-02 setting wages for employees after a motion by Banowetz and a second by Schanze; the minutes record the resolution as adopted. The council also authorized signing the Gworks onboarding document following a motion by Schanze, seconded by Beuthien.
