Heidelberg council canvasses election, adopts results confirming new mayor and council members

Mayor Lori Weldon called a special meeting of the City of Heidelberg on Nov. 13, 2024, to canvass the municipal election results and formally adopt the certified returns.
The council verified the election results and voted to adopt the canvas. Councilmember Doug Kilian moved to adopt the results; Councilmember Matt Graf seconded. The motion carried unanimously (4-0). The canvas form was signed by the council and witnessed by the clerk.
The certified results recorded that Kevin Zvanovec won the open mayoral seat. The council also recorded that Matt Graf and Ted Odenthal won the two open four-year council seats, and Randy Odenthal won the special two-year council seat.
After completing the canvass, Councilmember Doug Kilian moved to adjourn; Councilmember Ted Odenthal seconded. That motion also passed unanimously (4-0), and the meeting was closed. The council noted the next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
