Board awards lease-leaseback for Del Mar Elementary phase 2 to Wysong Construction, 6-0

On Sept. 2 the San Luis Coastal Unified Board voted to award a lease-leaseback contract for Del Mar Elementary phase 2 to Wysong Construction following staff recommendation based on scoring of value and price.
Board member Mister Unger moved approval of "8.03 measure c 22 RFQ RFPQ number 335 award lease leaseback to Wysong Construction," and Mister Banfield seconded. The board recorded votes in favor from Mister Unger, Mister Banfield, Miss Baltadano, Mister Buckman, Mister Clausen and the chair; the motion carried 6-0 with one absence.
District staff said Wysong presented the lowest overall price and emphasized the companyuses predominantly local labor. Staff also reported project sequencing and capacity planning across Measure C sites to ensure labor and scheduling alignment. "He uses almost all local labor," a staff presenter said of the recommended contractor and noted the district has reviewed Wysong's current and planned workload.
The board approved the motion without amendment and then adopted a consent agenda covering personnel, warrants, policy revisions and other items.
Next steps: staff will finalize contract details and proceed with project scheduling for Del Mar phase 2 under the Measure C program.
