The contract price was reported to reflect an $800 industry-wide increase; the motion authorized a contract amount not to exceed $16,700. The council also approved waivers to allow the event to proceed on city property and to permit vendor sales tied to the celebration.
The council did not debate alternate dates or locations at the meeting. The city will publish event details and any vendor guidance closer to the celebration.
