Committee members reported the NYPLAYS grant application for playground replacement was submitted on June 15, 2026. The committee sought three quotes and submitted the one from Landscape Structures Inc., which the minutes state was the most inclusive of materials, locations and ADA accessibility specifications required by the grant. Restoration work was included in the submitted pricing, and the recently installed Volo Aire can be counted toward the required local match.
Committee members said they are reviewing dates for a Volo Aire ribbon cutting, possibly in early fall. Members also noted that a drainage project for the front area of the park is long overdue and needs to be completed before moving forward with equipment replacement; the drainage item will go to the next Town Board meeting for discussion.
The committee acknowledged recent volunteer work and maintenance items: repair of the trail-head bench, installation of a BH Library Story Walk on the Blue Trail, the butterfly garden replanting and invasive removal by volunteers, and completion of the dog park bottom rail on June 11. Committee members also noted the need for updated Dog Catcher signs with a current name and phone number.
