Councilman McCarthy told the council the Police Department has received new lighting equipment and that installation has begun. He also said the department received a new vehicle that will be outfitted within the next two weeks and that the Shared Service Agreement has been forwarded to the borough attorney for review.
McCarthy reported that congressional funding for the Police Department has been approved by Senator Kim and is moving to committee review at the next stage. Separately, the consent agenda included the resignation of Police Officer Joseph A. Ciaurro, effective June 13, 2026; the consent agenda was approved by roll-call vote.
Councilman Steven Oglesby added that the Personnel Committee is gathering information ahead of upcoming Police Department contract negotiations. No formal policy changes or contract actions were adopted at the meeting.
