Prokos said the applicants will install an ID scanner and a modern POS system and obtain ABCC approvals; she also asked the board to approve a pledge of the license and inventory to Rockland Trust as collateral for a commercial loan. The board confirmed there were no ABC violations on record for the owners’ other stores.
Select Board member Sam moved to approve the transfer “as presented.” After discussion and confirmation that ABCC approval remained a required step, the board voted in favor and closed the hearing. The board’s approval includes the pledge to the lender “as presented,” and staff will confirm ABCC filings and required manager qualifications before issuing the local certificate of approval.
The board’s action was taken under its role as local licensing authority; the ABCC must still complete its review before the license transfer is effective.
