Lewis County approves staffing, contracts and service agreements including WSU extension MOA and AV upgrade

Key approvals included: - Resolution 26-205: Establish a casual/extra-help position to support the treasurer’s office during a vacancy at a rate set at $100 per hour for approximately 8–10 hours per week; the board amended the resolution to include an expiration date of Aug. 4, 2026, and approved the amended motion 3-0. - Resolution 26-206: Authorize a purchase order with Avidix, on a state contract, to complete the audiovisual system work at county facilities not to exceed $51,664.89 (including tax and shipping). - Resolution 26-208: Approve Supplement No. 2 with Sage Geotechnical LLC, increasing the contract funding by $150,000 for a new maximum payable amount of $500,000 to cover geotechnical task orders for public works needs. - Resolution 26-209: Approve a local agency agreement and federal-aid project prospectus with the Washington State Department of Transportation for Tucker Road paving. - Resolution 26-210: Enter into a roofing contract for repairs and replacement at the Lewis County Jail with Rev Weatherproofing Technologies Inc., using the KCDA contract. - Resolution 26-211: Approve a memorandum of agreement with Washington State University Extension for county extension services for 2026 at a total of $135,423 (replacement of a previously approved MOA due to corrections).
During deliberation staff clarified limits and timelines: the casual position was described as a maximum of 10 hours per week and the amendment set a firm expiration to allow re-evaluation. The AV PO and roofing contract were presented as standard procurements using state or cooperative contracts. The Sage Geotechnical supplement was requested to accommodate new and existing task orders through the public works department.
