Council gives favorable action to 11-townhouse West Shore Road plan

Brennan said the plan meets the city’s parking requirements, relocates structures toward West Shore Road and proposes vegetative screening and fencing where units back up to existing residences.
Brennan said the applicant obtained master-plan approval from the planning board and will present stormwater and roadway details for engineering review. He noted the owner intends to pursue state and city permits required for construction, and that any traffic or drainage impacts would be subject to technical review by the city engineer and relevant state agencies.
No members of the public spoke in opposition at the hearing; Councilman Muto praised the developer’s outreach and recommended favorable action. The council moved for favorable action and recorded a favorable roll-call vote in the meeting.
The project now proceeds to detailed engineering review and permitting steps required by the planning department and RIDOT/DEM as needed; neighbors will be able to monitor the engineering submissions and permitting process.
