At its July 6 meeting the Town of Hampden Select Board granted a Class 2 (used car) dealer license to VA Express and approved several community event permits for July.
Applicant Andre described plans to operate five vehicles from a 500‑square‑foot office within an existing commercial building, to subcontract mechanical work off‑site and to use shared parking. "I will put a sign on the office door," Andre said, and planning board members present reported no outstanding parking concerns. Town staff confirmed the applicant had submitted required paperwork, including the bond and application, and the planning board had reviewed the concept.
The board voted to approve the VA Express license.
The board also approved a one‑day liquor license for an artisans' event at the senior center on July 16 and authorized three day‑of food‑service vendor permits for the Rock End of Summer event on July 11, subject to payment of health‑department fees and final inspection. Separately, the board endorsed a residential kitchen permit for 25 Circle View Drive, pending health‑department sign‑off.
Staff will hold final permits pending payment of required fees and inspections.
