The Rolla Planning and Zoning Commission on May 13 recommended that City Council approve TXT25-01, a text amendment to Chapter 42 of the City of Rolla ordinances (Sections 42-344 through 42-346) to change temporary signage rules. The commission voted to increase the allowable duration for temporary signage from 14 days to 21 days and to require 10 days to remove signage after a complaint.
City Planner Tom Coots presented the staff report at the reopened public hearing. Commissioners discussed the appropriate number of days for temporary signage; there were no citizen comments during the hearing. Commissioner Don Morris moved and Commissioner Nathan Chirban seconded a motion recommending council approval of the amendment as revised. The roll call vote recorded ayes from Chirban, Crider, Jordan, Martin, Morris and Shields; nays: none; absent: Davis. The motion passed and the recommendation will be forwarded to City Council for final action.
