Six newly elected Rolla councilmembers sworn in; Greven named mayor pro-tem

At the April 21 meeting the City Clerk administered the Oath of Office to six newly elected councilmembers. Mayor Louis Magdits presented certificates to five outgoing members; Kevin Greven was reappointed mayor pro-tem and Nathan Chirban named P&Z representative.
The Rolla City Council held a swearing-in ceremony as part of its April 21, 2025 meeting. The City Clerk administered the Oath of Office to six newly elected councilmembers: August Rolufs (Ward 1), Andrew Behrendt (Ward 2), Aaron Pace (Ward 3), Tom McNeven (Ward 4), David Shelby (Ward 5) and Micheal Dickens (Ward 6). Those newly sworn took their assigned seats for the remainder of the meeting.
Mayor Louis J. Magdits presented certificates of thanks to five outgoing councilmembers—Joshua Vroman (Ward 1), Megan Johnson (Ward 2), Matt Fridley (Ward 3), Robert Kessinger (Ward 4) and Victoria Steen (Ward 6)—in recognition of their service.
Council proceeded to make appointments for one-year terms: Kevin Greven was nominated and confirmed by voice vote as Mayor Pro-Tem; Nathan Chirban was nominated and confirmed as the council representative to the Planning & Zoning Commission. Consideration of representatives to the Destination Rolla Grant Committee was deferred to a future meeting.
The minutes record that the new members were seated immediately after the oath and participated in subsequent votes and business for the remainder of the evening.
