Commission staff reminded members on June 8 that commission terms expire on April 30, 2027, and described the reappointment process: public notice, a submission process and councilmember selection for district seats, plus at-large selections by the county executive’s office.
Members discussed scheduling two required annual meetings after the primary. Staff proposed December 7 and either February 8 or March 8; commissioners expressed date preferences and staff agreed to send a poll. The chair moved to schedule meetings for December 7 and March 8; Bernice Tucker seconded and the commission voted in favor.
Bernice Tucker said she does not intend to apply for another term and indicated interest in serving on the county’s Commission on Aging instead. Staff thanked members for their service and closed the meeting with a motion to adjourn that carried by voice vote.
