The Town of La Plata Planning Commission on July 7 approved the June 2, 2026 meeting minutes and rescheduled its August meeting.
A motion to approve the June minutes carried by voice vote after a motion from Commissioner Wells and a second from Commissioner Miller. The commission then discussed a conflict with the town’s annual “Night Out” event and directed staff to cancel the regular Aug. 4 meeting and notice a special/alternative meeting for Aug. 5, 2026; staff said Aug. 18 is a further backup option and that a formal notice will be circulated.
Director Dooley also provided brief staff updates: the Rosewood Apartments (part 2) application is expected to be deferred because outstanding project issues remain, and staff plans to bring revisions required by recent state law changes to the town’s accessory dwelling unit code to the August meeting. Dooley said those ADU revisions are state requirements rather than staff‑initiated changes.
