Board grants multiple facility-use agreements; Anderson Hauser pickleball fundraiser approved

The Greenwood parks board on July 7 approved multiple facility-use agreements—covering an Elite Homes Expo, a kids triathlon and Greenwood Pride 2027—and approved a request from Anderson Hauser to host a pickleball charity tournament at Craig Park.

Joshua Russ, who identified himself to the board, and Bridal Brewer presented details of Anderson Hauser’s third annual pickleball charity event and asked to use Craig Park courts. "My name is Joshua Russ," Russ told the board, and the presenters said the event expects roughly 50 attendees and will provide packaged snacks and music. Bridal Brewer said proceeds would be donated to Resources of Hope, a local nonprofit that supports foster and kinship families.

Board members discussed timing and ticketing logistics for the events. Staff described the home-show proposal as a ticketed event with beneficiaries designated to a foundation and said the field house would remain open to the public while event access would be controlled at the turf-field entrance. A board member cautioned organizers to submit requests earlier for events scheduled soon so that contingencies can be handled without last-minute delays.

Motions to approve the use agreements were moved and seconded on the record and passed by verbal roll-call votes. The board recorded votes by named members during the meeting; approval language allowed staff to finalize event logistics and ticketing arrangements in collaboration with organizers.

The approvals allow the events to proceed subject to standard event permitting and staff coordination on access control and ticketing. Anderson Hauser’s organizers thanked the board for its support before the meeting moved on to the parks foundation financial report.
