Planning Commission meeting roundup: three plans tabled, liaison reports Board actions

At its June 4 meeting, the Silver Spring Township Planning Commission handled several procedural actions and referrals.
The Commission approved the minutes from its May 7, 2026 meeting on a McDonald/Helman motion. The Commission tabled three development plans at the applicants' request: the Silver Spring PFAS Treatment Plant Preliminary Land Development Plan (2025-8), the Donald Lenk Nursery Final Land Development Plan (2025-11), and the Commercial Development at Waterford Drive Lots 17–20 (2026-2). Each table action was recorded as carried on the minutes.
Ms. Laura Brown, the Board liaison, reported on the Board of Supervisors' May 27 meeting. She said the Board granted time extensions for the PFAS plant and Lenk Nursery, approved the conditional-use applications for 100 Fry Drive, and approved the Sporting Green Apartments; she also noted the Data Center ordinance changes are not ready for Planning Commission review. A member of the public, Clarence Bouchat, asked for clarification about time extensions for a recycling facility and was told extensions are requested by applicants.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:05 p.m. on a Duncan/McDonald motion.
