Earlier in the meeting the mayor thanked the fire department for responding to a June 1 rescue and praised the downtown Fourth of July activities and fireworks, calling the video produced by Hannah "very moving" and a "really good video." The council later viewed the 250th-anniversary video during the meeting and members complimented the work.
The announcements were delivered as part of routine council reports; no separate motions were required for the appropriations, which reflect actions taken at the state level and funds allocated to city projects.
