Woodland Township approves $381,545.47 in bills, extends Chatsworth Cranberry Festival lease and raises bid threshold

The motion to approve the bills and claims (Current Fund $361,768.05; Payroll $9,887.72; Capital $2,889.70) was made by Committeewoman Donna Mull and seconded by Committeeman Mark Herndon; the recorded vote was Herndon—yes, Mull—yes, DeGroff—absent. The committee then opened the public-comment period for the consent agenda, heard no speakers, and approved Resolutions 2025-73 through 2025-78 on the same motion pattern and vote.
Those consent items included Resolution 2025-73 authorizing continuation of the lease between Woodland Township and the Chatsworth Cranberry Festival; Resolution 2025-74 canceling taxes for tax-exempt parcels (B701/41Q & 51Q); Resolution 2025-75 increasing the bid threshold to $53,000 pursuant to NJSA 40A:3(c); Resolution 2025-76 authorizing the Tax Collector to cancel erroneous lien #20019; and Resolutions 2025-77 and 2025-78 approving raffle licenses for the Woodland Ladies Aux. All six resolutions were approved by recorded vote (Herndon—yes; Mull—yes; DeGroff—absent).
In departmental reports, the Tax Collector reported July collections of $12,415.53. Clerk Maryalice Brown reported July miscellaneous collections of $5,738.00, submitted the July OPRA report and set the next regular meeting for Sept. 24, 2025. The township engineer submitted a report for the committee's files. Public works reported routine maintenance of the township yard and transfer station and said crews installed solar stop signs and various street signs.
Committeewoman Mull closed committee comments by wishing attendees a “Happy Labor Day,” a remark echoed by Committeeman Mark Herndon. The meeting was moved to adjourn at 7:11 p.m.; the motion carried on a second by Herndon.
