The Rochelle Park Board of Education recognized two staff members at its March 25 meeting: Denise McCormick as the district’s Teacher of the Year and Maria Miaoulis as Educational Service Professional of the Year for 2024–2025. Both recognition resolutions passed by roll call vote 7–0 (Teacher of the Year motion by Ms. Rainone; ESP motion by Ms. Holz).
On personnel actions, the board approved extracurricular appointments including Adam Becker as baseball coach ($2,171) and other listed coordinator roles. The board approved new hires and appointments on the personnel slate, including Kimberly Smith for the Learning Disabilities Teacher‑Consultant (LDTC) position with an annual salary listed as $90,692, conditional pending criminal history background authorization and physical clearance. The board accepted the resignation of Erin Dowling effective May 12, 2025, and approved an extension of an unpaid leave for an employee through May 1, 2025. Motions P1–P4 carried by roll call 7–0.
Superintendent Dr. Sue DeNobile also thanked staff for recent achievements and welcomed Jessica DiCori’s return to the administrative team as Supervisor of Special Services, noting classroom and internship activities designed to build life skills for students receiving special services.
What happens next: conditional hires will proceed once background checks and required clearances are completed; the board will address additional staff and extracurricular matters in future meetings as needed.
