Earlham council approves stop signs at 4th & Oak, administrative signatory changes and waives further readings on garbage-rate ordinance

The Earlham City Council on Jan. 12 approved a slate of routine and traffic measures, including a 4‑1 vote to place stop signs at the intersection of 4th and Oak.
Motion by Fredericksen and second by Miller carried the council’s Resolution No. 26‑04 to install stop signs at 4th & Oak. The roll call was Ayes — Fredericksen, Miller, Nelsen and Visser; Nay — Mudge. The motion passed 4‑1.
Council also approved Resolution No. 26‑05, removing Tim Nelsen from the list of signatories at Earlham Savings Bank (motion by Miller, second by Nelsen) and Resolution No. 26‑06, naming ProTem Deeanna Mudge as a signatory (motion by Fredericksen, second by Nelsen). Both measures passed unanimously.
The council approved the City of Earlham Credit Card Policy (motion by Mudge, second by Miller) on a unanimous roll call.
On municipal rates, the council approved the first reading of Ordinance No. 478, amending Ordinance No. 472 to set garbage rates effective Jan. 1, 2026 (motion by Visser, second by Mudge). The council then voted (Visser motion, Fredericksen second) to waive the second and third readings; both votes were unanimous.
No appeals or additional amendments to the listed resolutions and policies were recorded during the meeting. The council adjourned at 8:13 p.m.
