Modesto City Schools board completes roll call, moves into closed session; clerk says emailed/voicemail comments will be transcribed

The clerk led roll call, recording Trustees Brown, Daley, Ervin and Lopez as present; Trustee Marks was noted as attending virtually. Vice President Mejia and President Mejia were also recorded present.
The clerk told the board that “any public comments received via email or voice mail following the posting of the board agenda and prior to noon, the day of the board meeting will not be read aloud, but have been transcribed and printed with copies provided to each board member and the public.” The clerk added that those emailed and voicemail comments “will also be attached to the board meeting minutes, and they will be approved at a future board meeting.”
When the clerk asked whether any members of the public wished to comment on closed-session items, no one came forward. “Seeing none, the board will now convene and go into closed session,” the clerk announced, and the trustees left the open portion of the meeting for the closed session.
No votes or substantive policy items were discussed in the open portion of the transcript. The minutes and transcribed public comments will be attached to the record and considered for approval at a subsequent meeting.
