The Milledgeville City Council voted Dec. 9 to authorize a lighting service agreement with Georgia Power to upgrade 22 LED roadway lights on Industrial Park Drive and approved Resolution R-25-12-55 by roll call. The chair called for discussion; none was offered and the resolution passed with recorded ayes from members present.
Council then considered Resolution R-25-12-56, a consent-style resolution to approve a batch of alcohol-license renewals for calendar year 2026 as listed in the resolution’s Exhibit A; the council moved, seconded and approved the renewals on a roll call with ayes recorded from members present.
On appointments, the council confirmed Chelsea Brantley to the library board, reappointed Dr. Norese Price to the development authority board and reappointed Gregory Barnes to the Convention and Visitors Bureau board; in each case a motion and second were recorded and the clerk called the roll with ayes recorded. The council also noted the reappointment of Randy Clark to the Milledgeville Housing Authority Board without the need for a roll-call confirmation on the floor.
Earlier in the meeting the clerk read three ordinances for first reading and referred them to the Planning and Zoning Commission: O-25-12-19 (annexation and heavy-industrial zoning for ~32.173 acres at 76 W. Highway 22), O-25-12-20 (special-use request for a used-car sales lot at 195 Robertson Mill Road) and O-25-12-21 (rezoning request for 261 Mobley Road to allow automotive repair and an embroidery business). Those items will return for further review and possible later readings.
Where the record shows only roll-call responses of "aye" from members present, the transcript does not consistently map each recorded response to a named speaker; the article reports outcomes and tallies as recorded on the council floor.
