Vin, a representative of the Department of Public Utilities, told the commission the agreement will provide program management and direct design services for infrastructure projects tied to the first tranche of work, which he said totals $375,000,000. "At this moment and with this vote, the city and the Department of Public Utilities is at full send on the stormwater construction program," Vin said during his presentation.
Mayor Josh Levy opened the item and commissioners moved and seconded the motion to approve; the item passed by unanimous voice vote. The vote was taken by voice with no roll-call tallies recorded in the meeting transcript.
The contract will support planning, design and oversight of stormwater infrastructure projects identified in the city's capital improvement plan. City staff thanked CDM Smith and said the firm had helped develop the stormwater master plan and will assist with execution of upcoming projects.
Next steps include finalizing the contract documents and initiating program-management activities and design work tied to the approved tranche of projects.
