Eagle Township accepts LEAP sub-grant and clears hall repairs, asbestos removal and furnace replacement

The Eagle Township Board on Jan. 20, 2026, adopted Resolution 01-20-2026-03 approving acceptance of a LEAP Community Enhancement sub-grant and authorized the Supervisor to sign the grant agreement.
Clerk Laurie Briggs-Dudley moved and Treasurer Chelsea Hoppes supported the resolution; roll-call yes votes were recorded from Clerk Briggs-Dudley, Treasurer Chelsea Hoppes, Trustee Rob Currie, Trustee Michelle Hoppes and Supervisor Troy Stroud. The resolution was adopted.
Following the grant acceptance, the board approved several contracted and maintenance items to prepare the township hall for the planned improvements. On a motion by Trustee Rob Currie and second by Trustee Michelle Hoppes, the board approved Option 2 of a quote from Hager Fox to replace the furnace at a cost not to exceed $7,000. The board also approved an asbestos-removal bid from Greater For Life Environmental for removal of the kitchen floor at a cost not to exceed $3,400; Supervisor Stroud and Pat O'Neill, maintenance, will coordinate removal of kitchen islands and ranges. Finally, the board authorized Pat O'Neill to remove and replace six smaller wooden posts in the basement under the kitchen at an estimated cost of $2,000.
All motions related to these hall updates carried without recorded no votes. The board recorded the expenditures and authorized staff and contractors to proceed within the approved limits.
