Natchitoches City Council adopts routine appointments, insurance renewal and authorizes airport hangar bid

The Natchitoches City Council on June 8 unanimously adopted a series of routine resolutions, confirming administrative appointments, approving an insurance renewal and authorizing bids for an airport hangar door replacement. Mayor Ronnie Williams Jr. recommended Stacy McCreary be appointed Clerk of the Council; council members approved the appointment. On finance matters, council approved Resolution 044, awarding a city insurance renewal contract to Arthur Gallagher Risk Management Services LLC for $573,493 covering 06/30/2026–06/30/2027. Finance staff said the renewal netted a savings roughly $2,000 from last year while adding cyber liability coverage. ‘‘It actually was a very good renewal,’’ the finance director said, noting the city added cybersecurity insurance while the overall premium fell.
Council approved Resolution 045 to advertise and accept sealed bids for replacement of a hangar door at the Natchitoches Regional Airport (bid #0683). City staff explained the project was FAA-funded and would not cost the city; bids will be accepted until 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, with a public opening scheduled at the purchasing office.
