Council members reviewed several routine administrative and planning items during Monday's meeting.
Surplus property: The town manager described items proposed for a surplus property auction, including police vehicles (three Dodge Chargers), an older Parks & Rec Ford Explorer (which the manager said costs more to repair than to keep), a parks truck, a utility trailer and scag mower(s). The manager said one or two Dodge Durangos may be added if new vehicle turnover is cleared before Friday, and reminded council that state statute requires advertising before the town may hold an online auction.
Streets and Powell Bill funding: Councilors were told Ben Cathy (or his consultant) will present a recommended resurfacing project at next week's meeting covering three Livingston Farms streets (North Sunbury, South Sunbury Veil and Wild Meadow Road). The manager confirmed the town remains in good standing on Powell Bill funds used for eligible street work.
Budget calendar: The manager outlined the FY2025–26 budget schedule: a proposed Jan. 13 4 p.m. work session before the regular meeting, department submissions due by mid‑February, a budget workshop March 18, and a May 8 retreat where the manager would present a recommended budget prior to required public hearings and adoption.
Farmers market: Staff reported vendor interest and survey results for a potential farmers market and are evaluating town property sites (including a small open area near the Green Building and Town Hall and the Fernley campus) with a target to operate between May and October if feasible. Staff said grant opportunities and a registration process would follow site selection.
No ordinances or budget appropriations were adopted at Monday's meeting; council approved adjournment by voice vote at the meeting's close.
