Greenwich park committee schedules concrete work, considers rodeo; council approves raffle spending

GREENWICH, Ohio — At its May 6 meeting the Greenwich Park Committee briefed the council on construction and fundraising plans for a new park building and asked for community help during Memorial Day events.
Committee members said concrete for the new building is scheduled for next week. Amy, representing the Painted Cowgirl, told council members she would like to host a rodeo as part of community events. A gallery attendee asked whether someone would be available to answer questions about the new building on Memorial Day; Councilmember Jason Hunter said the council would "figure something out."
Park fundraising is already under way: the minutes report meat raffle tickets are available at $5 each or five for $20, with more than 100 tickets sold and a 1/4 beef as the top prize. Councilmember Randy Wilson moved to increase raffle spending by $104.95 to support related activities; Larry Risner seconded the motion and the minutes record it passed with six ayes.
The park committee set its next meeting for June 2, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
