Greenwich council adopts new water and sewer rates and creates Reservoir Lake Park advisory board

GREENWICH, Ohio — The Greenwich Village Council on May 6 passed a package of ordinances that revised utility rates and created a citizen advisory board for a new Reservoir Lake Park.

Ordinance 2026-O-08, which amends section 1042.02 of the Greenwich Codified Municipal Code, updates the village's water service rates; Ordinance 2026-O-09 amends section 1044.02 to change sewer rates and charges. Both ordinances were described in the meeting minutes as "passed and adopted." The council also passed Ordinance 2026-O-10, creating a Reservoir Lake Park, Recreation Center advisory board under chapter 1066 of the municipal code.

The actions follow routine legislative procedure at the May 6 regular meeting, where council members recorded attendance and considered multiple items on the agenda. Resolution 2026-R-03 was tabled until the council's next meeting on May 19. Resolution 2026-R-09, naming the village's Public Records Training designee(s) under the Sunshine laws, was approved for first reading.

The council minutes do not record individual roll-call tallies for the three ordinances, only noting they were "passed and adopted." The meeting did record roll-call votes on several motions earlier in the session, each passing with six ayes.

Mayor James Twaddle noted other operational topics discussed at the meeting, including a forthcoming proposal on curbside trash pickup from Rumpke and ongoing questions about changes to a lift station project. The mayor said the changes to the lift station were "being questioned since they were not what was agreed upon" and that results and possible contingency funding remain pending.

The council confirmed its next regular meeting for May 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Greenwich Village Hall.
