The Milledgeville City Council on Sept. 9 unanimously approved two election-related resolutions. Resolution R-2509-34 authorizes an intergovernmental agreement with Baldwin County for the provision of election services; the city manager said the cost will be split roughly 50/50 with Baldwin County and that the county will provide machine and election services under the agreement.
The council then approved Resolution R-2509-35 to select Courtney Chambers as the City of Milledgeville election superintendent. The city manager said the appointment follows statutory procedures required by state law and the resolution meets those requirements.
Both resolutions were moved, seconded and approved by roll call; the clerk recorded ayes from the council members present. The city manager noted that if municipal runoffs occur the city would fund 100% of those runoff costs.
