The Lynnfield Planning Board on April 29 advanced a 25‑tree planting project as the initial phase of a broader Tree Planting Around Town initiative tied to the town’s 250th celebration.
Vice Chair Amy MacNulty summarized the project and said plantings would begin the following week under the guidance of Bob Moses, a certified arborist who will also serve as consultant for future plantings. Director Emilie Cademartori said the trees are a mix of native species and will be planted in approved locations appropriate to each species.
Chair Page Wilkins reported that, at a meeting held before Town Meeting, officials decided to raise the spending limit for the Tree Revolving Fund from $10,000 to $25,000 to support the initiative. Cademartori said Moses will provide best‑practice training to DPW staff who will assist with the plantings.
Board members recorded no objections and treated the plantings as an initial implementation step in a multi‑year effort to expand street tree coverage.
