Tinicum Board approves updated easement process; public comment period extended to four weeks

At its June 2 meeting the Tinicum Township Board of Supervisors approved an updated 'Easement Process Document' from the Land Preservation Committee (LPC), including a change to extend the public comment period from two to four weeks.
Cindy Gaspari and Dan Ulman presented updates that clean up language, reorganize the evaluation worksheet, and move reimbursability notes into the main text. The LPC removed a line that said “Donation is encouraged,” which the committee felt could prematurely deter landowners by implying the Township’s role was only to secure donated easements. Gaspari said donation remains an option but is discussed later in the process after an application is submitted.
Supervisor John Cole proposed lengthening the public comment period to four weeks (paragraphs 18–19) because the Board now meets monthly; the motion to approve the updated document with that change passed unanimously. The Board directed LPC to summarize changes since the January 2021 version posted on the Township website for clarity.
The updated document is intended to make easement evaluation clearer for landowners and align LPC procedures with current Township practices.
