Benton County supervisors approve EMS claims, accept custodian resignation and grant Class C liquor license

The Benton County Board of Supervisors convened June 30 and handled routine business including approval of EMS claims, acknowledgement of a personnel resignation and approval of a Class C alcohol license.
Supervisors approved EMS claims numbered 257921–257928, which included payments to North Benton Ambulance ($75,842.74), Hiawatha Transport ($16,650.00), Belle Plaine Ambulance ($7,693.13), Atkins First Responders ($2,828.64) and Blairstown First Responders for training ($2,199.00). The claims were approved by motion of Supervisor Ronald J. Tippett, seconded by Supervisor Bruce Volz; Tippett, Chair Tracy Seeman and Volz voted aye.
The board also acknowledged the resignation of Terry Ehlinger, a part‑time custodian in the sheriffs office, effective July 1, 2026. The minutes record no additional personnel actions tied to the resignation during the session.
Finally, the board approved a Class C Alcohol License for Kacena Farms with an effective date range of Aug. 7, 2026 through Aug. 7, 2027. The meeting adjourned at 9:14 a.m.
All motions recorded in these items were passed unanimously by the supervisors present.
