Campground operator raises electrical certification and permitting issues during public comment

During public participation Brandon Stoltzfus, representing Lake Haven Campground on River Road, told the Committee he was unable to find a certified electrician to certify previously completed electrical work, which is required before the township electrical inspector can approve permits. He said eight electricians had not responded or declined the job and asked whether the electrical inspection is separate from obtaining a certified electrician’s sign-off.
Municipal Clerk Dana Klinger clarified that a certified electrician must first certify that the work was completed correctly; then the township’s Electrical Inspector will conduct an inspection and sign off. Stoltzfus also raised questions about a demolition permit for a large building on the campground, including whether lead testing would affect debris handling and storage; Mayor Zitone and Clerk Klinger advised confirming requirements with the Construction Department and the State Department of Environmental Protection.
Stoltzfus additionally inquired about a temporary permit to operate 40 RV sites to generate revenue while remaining work is completed; the Committee said it could not issue such a permit and directed him to the Construction Department for guidance. The minutes record no formal action by the Committee on these requests during the meeting.
