An alderman asked whether the work would replace the culvert pipe or install a concrete box; staff said a concrete box is likely but final capacity and design will be set during engineering.
Council members raised concerns about detours and disruption to a private gravel driveway near the work site. Staff said interim measures (hauling more gravel) could mitigate short-term impacts while the project advances through design and bidding. Staff also said applying for a larger grant (an example 80/20 match was discussed) could increase available funding but would broaden the project scope and likely extend the timeline; council expressed interest in proceeding with a narrower scope to move faster and limit disruption.
Alderman Mendet moved to approve Bill 3707; the motion was seconded and passed on a unanimous council vote. Staff said the task order will allow engineering to begin and produce final cost and capacity details once design is complete.
