Commission hears update on Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan, considers student/associate member status

Amy LeBlanc reported that the team from the Institute for Human-Centered Design is nearly finished touring city buildings and park facilities as part of the update to the Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan. The team will compile the site-visit findings along with survey responses into a draft plan for the commission to review, according to the minutes.
Commissioners also briefly discussed creating an Associate or Student member status. The proposal is intended to allow students to learn about the commission’s role and to gain public-service experience; the minutes record only a brief discussion and no motion or vote.
No timeline for the draft plan or any formal action on membership status was recorded in the minutes; the commission will likely address those items in future meetings when the IHCD draft is available.
