The Village Board approved hiring part-time police officer candidate Dyllan VanVorous pending a successful background review (motion A Ellerth/Tanner), carried unanimously. Chief Ryan Milligan presented the hiring recommendation.
The Police Department proposed a Flock camera program consisting of nine cameras at a cost of $3,000 per camera per year; the program would allow the department to track vehicles flagged by law enforcement entering and leaving the village. The board referred the camera proposal to the Feb. 4 General Services meeting, at which public comment and further discussion will be opened.
The hiring action is contingent on the candidate passing background checks; the camera proposal will receive broader consideration at the scheduled General Services meeting.
