Rye Planning Board approves $3,384.22 in escrow payments; discusses fees, park signage and RPC contract

At its June 9 meeting the Rye Planning Board voted 6-0 to pay four Sebago invoices totaling $3,384.22. Members also confirmed planning fees revised in 2025, discussed Tonus Park Island retention and signage placed by the DPW director, and noted RPC has not submitted a new contract.
The Town of Rye Planning Board approved payment of four escrow invoices during its June 9 meeting, voting 6-0-0 on a motion by Vice-Chair JM Lord, seconded by Steven Borne.
The board approved the following invoices from Sebago: Benchmark Assisted Care Facility Development invoice #202605413 for $830.18; Airfield Drive Condominium Development invoice #202605411 for $830.98; 14 Sagamore Road Development invoice #202605414 for $1,048.18; and 2203 Ocean Blvd. Condominium Conversion invoice #202605412 for $674.88. The payments total $3,384.22.
In other business, board members said planning and zoning fees updated in 2025 remain appropriate and aligned with similar-sized neighboring towns. The board discussed Tonus Park Island, which had been retained pursuant to the development of Signature Drive; members noted a former DPW director had removed Tonus Park for safety reasons and that current DPW Director Jason Rucker placed signage on Woodland Road to warn drivers about the intersection. The board also noted Rockingham County Planning (RPC) has not yet submitted a new contract and that the board expects to continue using RPC services.
