West Baraboo finance/personnel committee recommends hiring, new public works position and adopts investment policy

At its Aug. 8, 2024 meeting the Village of West Baraboo Finance/Personnel Committee unanimously recommended a DOT change order ($7,200), hiring Jason Goll as Code Enforcement/Public Works Lead with a $1/hour increase, adding a Public Works position, adopting Resolution 24-13 (Investment Policy), and referring a contract for legal review.
At a meeting on Aug. 8, 2024, the Village of West Baraboo Finance/Personnel Committee unanimously recommended several personnel and financial actions for the Village Board’s consideration.
The committee, chaired by Arndt, adopted the agenda and approved the minutes of the July 11, 2024 meeting. Moved by Mohar and seconded by Allen, those procedural motions carried unanimously.
The committee voted to recommend approval of a DOT Highway 33 change order for A-1 in the amount of $7,200.00. The motion to forward the change order was moved by Allen and seconded by Mohar and carried unanimously.
The committee recommended hiring Jason Goll for a newly created Code Enforcement/Public Works Lead position with a $1.00 per hour pay increase. That recommendation was moved by Arndt, seconded by Mohar, and carried unanimously.
Separately, members voted to recommend creating an additional Public Works position. The motion to add the position was moved by Allen, seconded by Mohar, and carried unanimously.
On financial policy, the committee moved by Mohar and seconded by Allen to recommend that the Village Board adopt Resolution 24-13, the Village of West Baraboo Investment Policy; the motion carried unanimously.
The committee also voted to send the USG Water Solutions contract to Attorney Eric Hagen for review before any further action is taken. Arndt moved the referral; Allen seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Finally, the committee recommended the Village Board approve all monthly expenditures. The motion, moved by Allen and seconded by Mohar, carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
