The Village of Warrens Board of Trustees approved a series of routine governance actions at its Dec. 10, 2024 meeting, including the 2022 audit, an election emergency preparedness plan, personnel-policy updates and several appointments and contracts.
Trustees voted to approve the 2022 audit after staff reported additional files were provided Dec. 4. The board also approved a Command Central maintenance agreement for election hardware and adopted an Election Emergency Preparedness Plan; officials said every election worker will receive the E.E.P.P. during training.
On human resources, the board approved handbook edits subject to specified edits (floating holiday, welcome page and office hours) and adopted an employee grievance and appeal procedure. Staff vacation carryover requests were approved consistent with a limit of less than 40 hours for carried time.
The board approved operator licenses for Marie Rezin and Bethany Heser for The Pines and appointed election inspectors (Alana Werner, Terri Swope and added Vicki Meyer) and election workers (Sue Knull, Peggy Taylor, Leon Lipinski, Debora Lipinski and Bonita Madosh). Trustees also approved a quit claim deed for the fire department and authorized the Warrens Area Fire District agreement for 2025.
Trustees updated the Community Building contract and increased rental rates; the board tabled detailed discussion of pavilion rental arrangements. The board noted $681.14 in excess Centennial event funds and tabled decisions on spending those proceeds.
The meeting included a closed session under State Statute 19.85(c) to consider personnel matters; the board scheduled employee reviews for Dec. 30, 2024. Trustees adjourned at 9:39 p.m.; the next meeting is Jan. 14, 2025.
