At its Nov. 12 meeting the Village Board of Warrens approved several administrative and financial items.
On motions recorded in the minutes, the board approved a Township Fire Protection Agreement (moved by A. Werner, seconded by T. Swope), authorized a computer purchase with a required 50% down payment (moved by A. Werner, seconded by P. Malinger) and approved two new water/sewer hookups for houses being built on Osprey and Blossom (both paid in full). The computer contract was signed and a check mailed on Nov. 13, 2024, according to the minutes.
The board addressed a pending sale of The Pines bar: Marie Rezin completed paperwork to serve as agent for the new owners until they satisfy a 90-day residency requirement; the board approved Marie as agent and approved the new owners’ Class B liquor license (motion by A. Werner, second by T. Swope, carried). The board also approved transfer and payment of bills on a motion by A. Werner, seconded by M. Rezin.
On human resources, P. Malinger moved to create an HR committee and J. Krultz seconded; the motion carried. J. Krultz nominated A. Werner and T. Swope to serve on the new committee; the board approved those nominations but recorded A. Werner and T. Swope as abstaining from that vote.
The minutes show the board moved into closed session at 8:55 p.m. under State Statute 19.85(c) to discuss personnel matters; the minutes do not record any resulting action. Several routine procedural motions earlier in the meeting (agenda and minutes approval) are recorded as carried.
Next steps: staff will follow through on contract administration (computer purchase and fire protection agreement), finalize licensing paperwork for The Pines’ new owners, and bring any personnel actions back to the board if required after the closed session.
