Two Rivers City Council elects Scott Steckmeser president; Shannon Derby chosen vice president

At its organizational meeting, the Two Rivers City Council elected Scott Steckmeser as council president in a secret-ballot tally of 7–2 and Shannon Derby as vice president in a 5–4 secret-ballot vote. The clerk administered the oaths and the council proceeded with organizational business.

The clerk, identified in the record as the city clerk, conducted nominations and the secret ballots. After tabulation the clerk announced, “Scott is the president with 7 to 2 as our election.” The newly elected president then took the oath of office administered by the clerk and pledged to "faithfully discharge the duties" of the office.
