Finance/Personnel committee recommends waste-collection rate resolution, 7% pay increase and HydroCorp contract

At its Oct. 10 meeting the Finance/Personnel Committee unanimously recommended the Village Board adopt Resolution 24-16 setting waste-collection rates for 2025–2032, approve a HydroCorp service agreement for cross-connection control and backflow prevention, include a 7% pay increase for full-time employees in the 2025 budget, and approve insurance renewals and monthly expenditures.
Chairperson Arndt presided over the Finance/Personnel Committee meeting Oct. 10, 2024, where members voted unanimously to forward several recommendations to the Village Board.
The committee voted to recommend adoption of Resolution 24-16, which sets rates for waste collection for the 2025–2032 period. Member Mohar moved the recommendation and Member Allen seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The committee recorded the action as a recommendation to the Village Board for final approval.
The panel also recommended the Village Board enter into a service agreement with HydroCorp for cross-connection control and backflow prevention. Member Allen made the motion and Member Mohar seconded; Attorney Hagen had proposed changes to the draft agreement that were incorporated before the committee voted to recommend it to the Village Board.
Chairperson Arndt moved and Member Mohar seconded a recommendation to include a 7% pay increase for full-time employees in the draft 2025 budget; the committee approved the recommendation unanimously. The motion specifies the percentage but does not set the ordinance or appropriation language; those budgetary details remain for the Village Board’s consideration.
Other committee recommendations included approval of insurance renewals and approval of all monthly expenditures. Members Mohar and Allen moved and seconded those motions, which passed unanimously.
The committee adopted the meeting agenda and the minutes of the Sept. 12, 2024 meeting by unanimous votes early in the session. The meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.; the recommendations recorded by the committee will be transmitted to the Village Board for action at a subsequent meeting.
