Walworth Fire/Rescue raises transport fees, approves sale of mini squad

During General Services Committee reports at the May 11 meeting, Fire/Rescue Chief Mike Kahl said the village’s billing charges were among the lowest in Wisconsin and recommended increases to better recover costs.
The board approved new billing fees as recommended: $1,700 for a basic transport, $1,800 for an EMT I transport, and $175 for a lift assist call (the first five lift assists remain complimentary). Trustees also approved the sale of mini squad 7 and directed that revenue from the sale be earmarked in the budget for Fire/Rescue Department use.
The board accepted donations totaling $650 ($500 from O’Neillz Automotive and $150 from Schaeffer Auto Group) for the 'Saturday in the Park' event on May 30, 2026. Police Chief Ryan Milligan informed the board he intends to request an upgrade to Axon body camera accounts from basic to Pro users in a future request, which would allow broader sharing of body camera footage when appropriate.
Motions on the fee increases, sale and donations carried unanimously; the minutes record the committee recommended the changes and the board approved them.
