Board discusses hiring construction manager for building project; no vote taken

Board members raised questions about the fee structure, competitive bidding and whether the role should be solicited through an RFP process.
One board member (speaker 2) said Kraus Anderson provided satisfactory responses during the bid-submittal review and that the committee found the fee reasonable compared with other districts. Another member (speaker 3) said the board should seek additional proposals or at least confirm price and scope before committing and recommended the business-ops committee revisit the specifics.
Members agreed to schedule a Business Operations meeting to finalize role definitions, talk through any additional submittals, and return a recommendation to the full board. The board did not vote on hiring a firm at the meeting; the chair said simply to "not take action on it" until the committee reports back.
Next step: A Business Operations Committee meeting was scheduled for Thursday at 4:30 to continue discussion and attempt to produce a recommendation to present to the board.
