At the council meeting, Joseph reported on a June 25 Crookston Housing & Economic Development Authority meeting. He said the board approved its budget and payroll and received reports from Teresa Duran and Taylor William on public housing and EDA community development work.
Joseph told the council the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development informed the CHA that its 2024 financial audit produced an overall score of 48 out of 100 and that HUD has requested a recovery plan. "We received an overall score of 48 out of 100 and then HUD has requested a recovery plan that's due in mid July," Joseph said. He said Darren (the full-time administrator), Theresa and others were preparing the recovery plan and that the plan will be presented at the next CHA board meeting.
No vote was recorded on the HUD report; councilors acknowledged the update and the staff effort to prepare required materials for HUD.
