Commissioners authorize joining Discover settlement and approve opioid "remnant" settlement

On opioid litigation, the county attorney described a motion to enter a settlement with remnant defendants. Counsel reported that as of April 24, 2026 the county had received $3,108,479.87 from prior opioid-related settlements. Commissioners voted to approve entering the remnant-defendant settlement and authorized the commissioner president to sign related documents.
Both motions passed by voice vote recorded as 'Aye.'
