Resolution 361 authorizes a one-year extension to September 30, 2026, and an increase of $104,798 to a contract with the New York State Office of Victim Services to support services for child and non-offending adult victims; Deputy Commissioner Rita Wood said the funds fully cover a crime victim advocate position at the county children’s advocacy center in Hurley.
The committee approved two $90,000 contracts (Resolutions 362 and 363) with the Children’s Home of Wyoming to provide prevention and community-based alternatives to detention and supervision/treatment services for youth; staff clarified funding sources and program age ranges. Resolution 364 extends a United Way contract by $72,457 through 10/31/2027 with funding at 31% federal, 42% state and 27% county.
Resolution 366 accepts a $5,000 mini-grant from the New York State Association of County Health Officials to support immunization action plans, with the health department directing outreach toward HPV vaccination. Resolution 367 amends a contract with Zach Academy to provide lead-safety renovator training through 09/30/2027, adding $16,848 to exceed $50,000 aggregate and noting the county has trained roughly 40 contractors so far.
Committee members asked detailed questions about funding sources, budget appropriation mechanics and county shares on certain contracts; staff clarified that many of these awards flow through the state and that some awards are 100% state-funded and others include county shares.
