Florence awards small contracts, approves elevated tank work and equipment charges

Street Director David Myers recommended the asphalt patch award; Alderman Kyle Martin moved to approve A J Construction's $5,000 quote (the lowest of two), seconded by Alderman Brent Sistrunk. The board later approved an additional $1,730 charge (invoice #25-2510) for labor and equipment related to the Main/Church utility work; the motion carried unanimously.
Park Director Mark Hester presented two quotes to replace a damaged concrete pad at the community center and to furnish and install tennis-court fence slats. The board approved Brandon Concrete, LLC's $4,500 quote for the concrete pad and awarded the fence-slat work to Nathaneal Smith for $5,542 as the lowest and best of two bids; both motions carried unanimously.
In addition, responding to a Mississippi Department of Health inspection report, the board authorized and directed Engineering Service to begin work on a repurpose project for the city's elevated water tank; that motion was made by Alderman Brent Sistrunk and seconded by Alderman Mason Herrin and carried unanimously.
The meeting record shows the purchases and project authorizations were approved by unanimous votes; the minutes do not indicate funding sources or formal contract numbers for each award.
